Chelsea are feeling relieved after scans on Didier Drogba’s injured ankle showed no significant damage.
The Ivoirian striker was seen limping
off the pitch in Budapest on Sunday during a friendly against
Ferencvaros, after twisting his ankle just before the half-hour mark.
And while some reports sparked concerns
over the nature and gravity of the injury, it has been confirmed that
Drogba should be resuming training towards the end of the week.
However, he is out of Chelsea’s last
pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge this
Tuesday, while his participation in the Blues’ Premier League opener
against Burnley on Monday is still in doubt.
